The Sweet By and By by Sara Evans

At the end of last year, I was happy to receive a book with a beautiful cover representing a girl resting. The look of it is so relaxing, that it can only make one be more anxious to read it.

The story is about running away from problems and how that may or may not work out. And how, when they catch up, one has to face the real self. It is a story about relationships and family; about a mother and daughter and keeping secrets. And about being true to oneself.

As a daughter and sister, I expected to really be captivated by this story of a young woman who, planning her wedding, needs to put some old issues aside in order to have hare family close to her.

I did like the cover and the theme. However, the novel is so wordy, it almost feels like a never-ending soap-opera. Too many words, some of them resembling shakespearian language made it hard for me to focus on the story and occasionally lose patience.

I would recommend it to more patient characters, but will probably not care much for the series.
